Terms of Service

1. Who provides the Service

Scriptura (the "Service") is a web application available at scriptura-ai.com. The Service is provided by Sergey Lyagovich, a sole proprietor based in Florida, USA ("we", "us").

2. What Scriptura is

Scriptura helps you read biblical text more attentively. The Service generates analytical observations on individual verses using artificial intelligence systems.

Please understand:

• Observations are generated automatically and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or contestable claims.
• Scriptura is not a theological, doctrinal, or other authority. It does not replace reading the text itself, study with qualified people, or your own reasoning.
• The Service is not affiliated with any religious organization and does not represent the position of any denomination.
• We make no guarantee as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of the generated content for any purpose.

How you use the information you receive is your own responsibility.

3. Accounts

An account is required to use the Service. You agree to:

• provide accurate information at registration;
• not share access to your account with others;
• be responsible for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms.

You may delete your account at any time by writing to support@scriptura-ai.com.

4. Free generation

A confirmed account receives one free generation. After it has been used, a subscription is required to continue using the Service.

5. Subscription and payment

Price. The standard subscription price is $19.99 per month. We may offer a reduced price to certain users (for example, via an advertising link or a personal code). The price that applies to you is displayed on the checkout page before payment.

Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. Payment is charged at the start of each billing period.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through the subscription management section in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — access remains available until that date. No partial refunds are issued for unused days.

Refunds. Paid periods are non-refundable, except where required by law.

Price changes. We may change the subscription price. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any change affecting an active subscription. Continuing to use the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Payments. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your card details. Stripe's terms also apply to your payment.

6. Acceptable use

You may not:

• scrape, crawl, or otherwise automate data collection, issue bulk requests, or circumvent technical limits;
• share a single account among multiple people;
• resell, republish, or commercially distribute content generated by the Service without our written consent;
• attempt to disrupt the Service, gain unauthorized access to any part of it, or access other users' data;
• use the Service for unlawful purposes.

We apply generation limits to protect against abuse. Ordinary use is not affected by them.

7. Content rights

Biblical text. The Service uses data from the STEPBible project, distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license (CC BY 4.0). Attribution is provided on the attribution page.

Generated observations. Observations are produced by the Service. You are free to use them for personal study. Bulk publication, resale, or use as a dataset for training models is not permitted.

The Service's design and code (interface text, design, structure) belong to us and may not be copied without permission.

8. Availability

We aim for uninterrupted operation but do not guarantee it. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, infrastructure provider failures, or circumstances beyond our control. We may modify or discontinue features; we will give advance notice of any material reduction in paid functionality.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the preceding twelve months.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or decisions made on the basis of generated content.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the courts of the State of Florida.
