Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data Scriptura (scriptura-ai.com) collects, why, and with whom it is shared.

1. What we collect

Account data

• Email address.
• If you sign in with Google: the email, name, and Google account identifier that Google provides at sign-in. We never receive your Google password.
• If you sign in with a password: an encrypted (hashed) password. We cannot read your password.

Usage data

• The verses you request and the observations generated for you.
• The number and time of generations (to enforce limits and prevent abuse).
• Language preferences.

Payment data

• Your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, and paid-period end date.
• We do not receive or store your card details. These are handled by Stripe.

Technical data

• Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request time) generated by our hosting provider.

We do not collect information about your religious affiliation and do not ask for it.

2. Why we use it

• To provide the Service: signing you in, generating and storing your observations.
• To process subscriptions and payments.
• To enforce limits and protect against automated abuse.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To keep the Service secure and operational.

We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.

3. Who we share it with

The Service runs on third-party infrastructure. Each provider receives only what its function requires:

• Supabase — database and authentication (account data, generation history).
• Vercel — application hosting (technical logs).
• Stripe — payment processing (email, subscription identifiers).
• AI model providers — to generate observations, we send them the text of the requested verse and internal instructions. Your email and account data are not sent to them.

We may also disclose data where required by law.

4. Cookies

We use only technically necessary cookies:

• Authentication — to keep you signed in between visits.
• Interface language — to remember your language choice.
• Entry source — to apply the correct subscription price if you arrived via an advertising link (stored for up to 30 days).

We do not run third-party advertising or tracking cookies on the site.

5. How long we keep data

• Account data and generation history — for as long as your account exists.
• Payment records — for the period required by tax and accounting law.
• Technical logs — for the retention period set by our infrastructure provider.

After you delete your account, the associated data is deleted within a reasonable period, except records we are legally required to retain.

6. Your rights

You may:

• request a copy of the data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate data;
• delete your account and its associated data;
• withdraw consent to processing (this means discontinuing use of the Service).

To do any of these, write to support@scriptura-ai.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights provided by the GDPR; if you are in California, the rights provided by the CCPA. We handle such requests through the same address.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over a secure connection (HTTPS) and stored with providers that apply industry-standard protections. No service can guarantee absolute security; we take reasonable measures and will notify you of any breach affecting your data.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's data. If you become aware that a child has provided us with their data, write to support@scriptura-ai.com and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our infrastructure providers may process data on servers in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

For material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. The effective date is shown at the top of this document.
